Getting started
Team Forms brings digital forms into Microsoft Teams while keeping form definitions, responses, attachments, and generated PDFs in your organisation’s Microsoft 365 environment. It uses your existing teams and SharePoint permissions, so users do not need a separate Team Forms account.

Open Team Forms
Section titled “Open Team Forms”You can use Team Forms in either of these places:
- Microsoft Teams: add Team Forms as a channel tab for a whole team, or install the personal app for individual access. See Installing in Microsoft Teams.
- Web browser: open web.teamforms.app. This is useful when you work across several teams or prefer a larger workspace. See Run outside of Microsoft Teams.
Select the team that should own the form. The selected team determines where the form and its responses are stored and which users can access them.
Create your first form
Section titled “Create your first form”- Select Build in the team where the form should live.
- Start from scratch, choose a template, or describe the form to the AI assistant.
- Add and configure the fields you need. Team Forms uses a drag-and-drop builder, so most forms do not require code.
- Use Preview to test the form and its generated PDF.
- Publish the draft when it is ready for responders.
- Share the form and review incoming responses.
Draft changes remain separate from the published form until you publish them. This lets authors and reviewers test an update without immediately changing the version used by responders.
Where to go next
Section titled “Where to go next”- Building forms explains components, layouts, validation, and form logic.
- Publishing and sharing covers draft review, publishing, and share links.
- Responses and submissions explains what happens after a user submits a form.
- Permissions and access explains author, reviewer, responder, and public access.
