Create pre-filled share links
Create a link that opens your form with known values, such as a name or reference number, already filled in.
- Open the form’s … menu and select Share.
- Choose Specific access link or Anyone links. For Anyone links, select an existing link or create one.
- Expand Customize this link and select Prefill.
- Use Form to enter values in the form, or Raw to enter a JSON object containing the response data.
- Select Apply prefill, then Link → Copy customized link. You can also distribute the configured link using QR code or Embed.
To clear the values, reopen Prefill and select Remove prefill. Cancel discards unapplied edits.
Prefilled values are stored in the URL and can be read or changed by someone with the link. Avoid putting sensitive information in them. These settings reset in the dialog when you close sharing; links already copied keep their values.
If Open in Microsoft Teams makes the link too long, reduce the prefilled data or select Use browser link. The dialog blocks Teams links longer than 2,048 characters.
