How can I make responses anonymous?
To collect responses without recording a verified responder identity, share an Anyone link with email verification disabled.
- Open the form’s … menu and select Share.
- Select Anyone links.
- Select an existing link, Create Anyone link for the first link, or New link for an additional one.
- Expand Customize this link → Email verification. If enabled, turn off Require email verification and select Save verification settings.
- Check that the selected link shows Anonymous, then select Link → Copy link and distribute it.
An Anyone link with email verification enabled records the verified email as the response’s creator email. A Specific access link records the signed-in Microsoft 365 identity. Review each Anyone link separately because verification settings are saved per link.
Anonymous submission does not prevent the form from collecting identifying information through its questions or prefilled values. Review the form’s content if respondents should remain anonymous.
